A few interesting titbits from today’s news - Apple, GPL, JP Morgan controversies, beer is the secret to success.
- Apple’s Logo makes you think different
Even the logo is magic, according to a research. This might explain my increased (though not-very-productive) artistic drive as of late.
- Apple’s CEO also manages differently
A thorough review from Wired on Jobs’ management methods and how it goes against the wave of everything else Silicon Valley does… and how it all saved Apple from its demise.
- Beer is not the key to success1
I am sure there will be many disappointed frat boys…
In more serious news, however:
- The GPL is acknowledged, Verizon pays up
Verizon distributed boxes for its FiOS with GPL code included in what seems to be one of the clearest cut cases of infringement.
- WikiLeaks hosting documentation incriminating JP Morgan of insider trading training
This is beautiful. JPM’s document to clients, basically a how-to on circumvention of anti-insider trading laws. Published on WikiLeaks. More and more people will get pissed off, and rightly so.
- Be skeptical about surveys and statistics [↩]
